As the Internet daily becomes more powerful and intrusive into our daily lives, more and more people are seeking to ‘make money on the Internet’.
I have two views about this:-
- There is no doubt that virtuall all of commerce will one day be via the Internet.
- Although the technology available continues to develop and get better at an alarming rate, it continues to get more difficult for the average guy to make money on the ‘net.
To make money of the ‘net you need two things…
- Something to sell, that people are willing to pay for
- Enough people to visit your website or sales page with the ability and desire to buy from you, without paying so much for these visitors that you can’t make a profit
The first, getting something to sell, is dead easy. Getting enough people to your website – cheaply enogh so that all your sales revenue aren’t swallowed up in advertising costs is more difficult.
The SEO Solution
One way to get visitors to your site is by what is called SEO and it’s actually not that difficult if you have the knowledge and the tools.
SEO use to stand for ‘Search Engine Optimisation’, and it referred to ensuring that your website as ‘tuned’ for the search engines, but it’s used loosely now to include just about anything that get people to a website through searches on search engines.
For example, getting your site ranking high on the search engines for selected keywords is often done by what is called ‘Article Marketing’. Sometimes this process is widened a bit and called Search Engine Marketing, but some people still just call it SEO.
I have had a lot of success getting websites ranked highly in the search engines and some of the results I have achived are on the SEO Campaign Results page.
